Original vintage travel advertising poster for Switzerland The St. Gothard Electric Railway featuring scenic artwork by Daniele Buzzi (b 1890) depicting a locomotive train on a track in front of snow topped mountains and hills with a village visible in the background below the blue sky, the bold stylised text on the margin above and below. Opened in 1882, the alpine Gotthard Railway line runs north-south through Switzerland and the Gotthard Tunnel from Ticino to Immensee; the line was electrified in 1922. Published by the Swiss Federal Railways Berne. Printed by J.E. Wolfensberger Zurich. Good condition, restored paper loss on top left corner, restored pinholes, minor tears and light creasing, backed on linen.
