Roberto Henriquez Cinsault "Fundo La Union" 2021

Roberto Henríquez's work and perspective on winemaking and biodynamic farming is deeply inspired by his time with Rene Mosse in the Loire Valley. Roberto, originally from Concepción, returned home from his time in abroad aiming to celebrate the traditional Pipeño methods of the original winemakers of Chile, which felt very intuitive to the artisanal winemaking style he had seen in France. The rest of his story to present is pure progression to the pursuit of the most pure wines in a true Chilean context. His vineyards are carefully selected in unique terroirs in the Itata and Bio Bio Valleys. 

"Fundo La Union" is made with Cinsault haversted from 100 year old vines grown in granitic soils in the Coelemu zone, and this is one of the vineyards closest to the sea in the Itata Valley. The coastal influences are evident in this wine, bringing a sense of freshness and energy.  Cinsault's floral tonality and tactile tannic structure are the frame work for this super dynamic and downright delicious red.  Serve with a light chill.
