A firework burst of beveled crystal, in aged brass

Dunkirk gathers eight candelabra bulbs at its centre and surrounds them with branches of beveled crystal beads, so the light reads through the crystal rather than as a direct point source. The overall effect is closer to a firework or spray of light than a conventional chandelier, and it's built to be the focal point of a room.

The frame and branches are finished in aged brass, a warm, softly worn metal tone that grounds the sparkle of the crystal beads. The crystal itself catches and scatters light from the concealed bulbs, so the fitting changes character between daylight, when it reads as a sculptural brass and crystal piece, and evening, when it's lit.

How it works

Dunkirk takes eight E14 candelabra bulbs, each rated up to 40W (not supplied), concealed within the crystal branches so the light source itself stays hidden. It measures around 61cm in height and 51cm in diameter, with a drop adjustable between roughly 75cm and 207cm, and weighs 4.5kg. As a mains wired fitting, it should be hung and wired by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its scale and sparkle suit living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways with enough ceiling height to let the full spread of branches sit comfortably, for example above a dining table or in a stairwell or entrance hall.
