Dwarf Jade

Dwarf Jade, scientifically known as Portulacaria afra, is a succulent plant native to South Africa, often confused with the more common Jade Plant (Crassula ovata). This plant is characterized by its small, round, glossy green leaves that grow on reddish-brown stems. The leaves are much smaller than those of Crassula ovata, giving it a more delicate appearance. Dwarf Jade is a popular choice for bonsai due to its woody stems and ease of training and pruning. It's also an excellent plant for beginners, as it is quite hardy and adaptable to indoor environments. Beyond its ornamental appeal, it's known for its ability to absorb high levels of carbon dioxide, making it a great addition to any home or office.
